A Night to Remember: Celebrating Legacy and Community at the Twin Cities Recovery Project’s 2nd Annual Living the Dream Gala

This past weekend, our CRCC team members, John and Dora Wright, had the honor of attending the 2nd Annual Living the Dream Gala, hosted by our fellow RCO, the Twin Cities Recovery Project (TCRP). The evening was filled with heartfelt stories, inspiring speeches, and a powerful sense of community. We are immensely grateful to TCRP for inviting us and to everyone who made the night truly special.

Cynthia emceed the evening and captivated us with stories of Marc, the visionary behind TCRP, and her journey in recovery. The room was moved as LaTricia stood alongside Jeremy Drucker, representing Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey, to share a message of hope and perseverance.

One of the most touching moments of the night was when we delved into the Power of Peers, learning about Marc’s legacy, his vision for TCRP, and the dreams he had for the future. We also highlighted three individuals whose lives have been profoundly impacted by TCRP, showcasing the transformative power of community and support.

We were thrilled to witness Daniel Weckman's awarding of the Living the Dream Award and Anissa Keyes's awarding of the Change Maker Award. Their dedication and commitment to making a difference in the lives of others exemplify the spirit of TCRP and Marc's envisioned impact.

Dora Wright shared a personal memory that resonated with everyone in attendance. She recalled a day years ago when she stopped by the Twin Cities Recovery Project and met Marc. He was kind and generous, handing her money when she needed it most. When she tried to return it, Marc simply said, “This is community. Marc believed in community; he believed in saving lives. The dream is alive, he is alive!”

As we continue our work at CRCC, we are reminded of Marc’s unwavering belief in the power of community. His legacy lives on through the lives TCRP touches, the support it provides, and the hope it inspires. We encourage everyone to support TCRP's mission by making a tax-deductible donation to help keep Marc’s dream alive and continue saving lives.

Thank you to TCRP for hosting such a memorable event and to everyone who is a part of this ongoing journey. Together, we are making a difference.
