Finding Hope After Loss: Lynn Boswell’s Journey to Recovery

Writer: Shannon EganShannon Egan

Lynn Boswell’s Recovery Story

Lynn Boswell’s path to recovery was shaped by unimaginable pain—the loss of her son.

“My lowest point was losing my son,” Lynn recalls, her voice soft but steady. “That kind of pain is unimaginable, and there were moments when I didn’t think I could survive it.” In those darkest moments, it was the support of others who had also lost a child that helped her hold on. “They understood the pain I couldn’t put into words,” she says.

Leaning into her faith and the love of her friends made all the difference. “My higher power and the love of my friends carried me when I couldn’t carry myself,” Lynn shares. The fellowship reminded her that she wasn’t alone and that healing was possible. Accepting help was a turning point in her recovery journey.

The Strength of Connection

For Lynn, recovery isn’t just about staying clean—it’s about building a life with meaningful connections. “I’ve been in recovery for 32 years, and what keeps me going is staying in touch with my sponsor, making Zoom meetings, and maintaining a relationship with my higher power,” she explains. Those connections help her find strength, even on the hardest days.

The love and support she received helped Lynn turn her pain into a purpose—helping others find hope and healing. Her story is a reminder that no matter how deep the pain, it’s possible to find a way forward with the right support.

A Message of Hope

To anyone still struggling, Lynn’s message is clear: “Don’t be afraid to ask for help. It’s okay to not have all the answers, and it’s okay to lean on others.” Her advice is simple but powerful—keep reaching out, keep showing up, and trust that it gets better.

“There’s hope, even on the hardest days,” Lynn says with conviction.

Lynn’s story is proof that recovery is about more than putting down substances—it’s about finding strength through faith, connection, and the courage to keep moving forward. No matter how dark the moment, there is always hope.
