Rebuilding from Rock Bottom: Andre Thomas’s Journey to Recovery

Writer: Shannon EganShannon Egan

Andre Thomas’s Recovery Story

Andre Thomas’s path to recovery began at his lowest point—when a relapse cost him everything. “My lowest point was when I relapsed and lost my great job. Everything I had worked for seemed to slip away overnight, and I found myself living at the Salvation Army,” Andre recalls. “That was a hard reality to face, but it was also the wake-up call I needed. I knew I couldn't keep living that way.”

Feeling defeated but determined to change, Andre reached out for help. That’s when the CRCC stepped in and made a lasting impact on his life. “CRCC played a huge role in helping me rebuild my life—they didn’t just offer support; they helped me become employable again,” he shares. “Having that second chance gave me the hope and determination to keep moving forward.”

A Lifelong Commitment to Recovery

For Andre, recovery isn’t a temporary fix—it’s a lifelong commitment. “Recovery isn’t just something you do for a little while—it’s for life,” he says. His focus now is on “doing the next right thing” and staying connected to the support systems that helped him rebuild. Consistently showing up and engaging in his recovery community has been key to maintaining his sobriety and moving forward.

The Power of Second Chances

Getting a second chance through CRCC gave Andre more than just a fresh start—it restored his faith in himself. Their support helped him rebuild his self-esteem, regain his independence, and find a path forward. “CRCC showed me that even after hitting rock bottom, you can rebuild a life worth living,” Andre explains. “That support was the turning point that helped me start over.”

A Message of Hope

To anyone still struggling, Andre’s message is clear: it’s never too late to turn things around. “Recovery is possible, no matter how far you’ve fallen,” he shares. “If you’re reading this, just remember—you’re not alone, and it’s never too late to start again.”

Andre’s story is a powerful reminder that recovery is always within reach. With the right support, a willingness to change, and the courage to keep moving forward, it’s possible to rebuild a life worth living.
