Join Our Statewide Recovery Workforce Network

CRCC, in partnership with  Chicago Cook Workforce Partnership Board and TEECH Foundation, are seeking to build a statewide Recovery Workforce Network, which will include substance use and/or mental disorder treatment programs and organizations, recovering individuals, local and statewide workforce development boards, employers, etc.

The goals of this Workforce Network is to establish and enhance employment-based recovery support services and address and remove barriers that bar individuals in recovery from gainful employment and increase access to workforce activities for the recovery community.

The network will meet monthly (virtually and in-person) to:

  • identify gaps in the workforce due to the prevalence of SUD;

  • identify and develop business services and strategies that engage employers in workforce investment activities;

  • enhance communication and collaboration within employers and the state and local workforce development boards for the benefit of recovering individuals;

  • develop effective strategies to serve individuals with barriers to employment and coordinate programs and services among one-stop partners;

  • develop community partnerships and facilitate employment and workforce training and placement for individuals in Illinois in from substance use disorder;

  • recruit new and empower existing employers to participate and enhance One stop delivery system; and

  • identify and provide activities to improve linkages between the one-stop delivery system and all employers in the state, and all other required activities outlined in the FOA.

The Network will collaborate to identify employers interested in participating in quarterly virtual trainings aimed to enhance their ability to support their current employees in accessing resources and treatment for substance use disorder; develop recovery-friendly policies; develop a recovery-friendly culture; destigmatize addiction in the workplace; support efforts to develop solutions and retain their employees; and support efforts to hire people in recovery.
